Years Of Experience
The Silver Jubilee Home (The Home) was founded by Mr Cheah Leong Keah, a prominent Penang businessman, in 1935 to commemorate the the Silver Jubilee of King George V in 1935. Located in Sungai Dua, The Home is an NGO for the elderly who are unable to afford and/or find suitable age care. It is open to eligible Malaysian citizens and permanent residents. It was first enacted under the Penang & Province Wellesley Jubilee Fund Ordinance (No. 39 of 1935) before the Ordinance was repealed and replaced by an Act of Parliament enacted by the Dewan Negara and Dewan Rakyat in Parliament on 30th September 1969. The Home provides free care and is supported by donations from the community. We are committed to providing quality care to people from all walks of life. Thanks to the public’s generosity and kindness we have been able to maintain this commitment..
We focus on three main areas: educating youth for a brighter future, running greening projects to protect the environment, and supporting underprivileged families with basic needs and skill-building programs.
We provide access to learning materials, mentorship, and skills training to help children and teenagers grow with confidence and prepare for a better future.
Our team organizes tree planting events, eco-awareness workshops, and sustainable community projects to promote a greener, healthier environment for all.
